Findern Footpaths Group was formed as a Findern Parish Council Working party in 1998, initially with four members. Since those early days, we have grown to a Group of about twelve members, some of whom are Parish Councillors. We are a diverse group, we range in ages up to our oldest members who are in their seventies! Some of us have disabilities. We are proud to have a group of youngsters who help us with our projects. Everyone is valued for the skills they bring to the Group.
The Group boasts people with expertise in horticulture, conservation, construction skills, photography, computer skills and others who bring only their enthusiasm and commitment. We all have a common love of the countryside and a commitment to protecting it!
As a Findern Parish Council working party , members are appointed by them. We follow government legislation for local government and the Code of Conduct that has been laid down by the Standards Board of England and Wales. The Parish Clerk acts as Clerk for the group.
We are completely self funding, and finance our projects from our own efforts.
Anyone wishing to join the group should contact Findern Parish Council. Forthcoming meeting are held on the first Thursday monthly and other activities are advertised locally on notice boards or on the web site. Please come along, hear about the work of the group and offer your ideas and suggestions.
